Now there’s a battle between Symbian UIQ task managers. First the only king was Swiss Manager Pro, a powerful task manager with a lot of posibilities like end system applications, file explorer, invoke applications and so on. Now a task manager from UIQ 2.0 has resucited for UIQ 3 plattform and it’s name is Sman. Who’s the best?
First of all we can compare both main screens. In SMan the screen has bigger buttons and it looks more reduced, in SMP we look a more sophisticated interface, but some curious thing in Sman is the button called “snapshot”. I tried it but i don’t know if is a printscreen or if it’s something like a snapshot of the state of the tasks in that moment. Also in Smanager we could see something like usage in a bar, but i don’t know what’s that.
Then we have in Sman a Threads viewer, thing that we don’t have in SMP, but in SMP we can see the proccess and the thread of that proccess with the “Description” button.
Both have a file explorere, but personally i like more the File explorer from SMP. Well, the final word is yours, so you can try Sman and Swiss Manager and tell us who’s the best.
