How to get our own symbian certificates

I have a loot of Symbian UIQ applications for you but the problem is the applications because a lot are unsigned and my generic certificate expired a few days ago so i can’t sign applications right now, only for me but it works only with my phone, so thanks to the guys of OPDA we have free certificates for sign our own applications!!!

The steps to get you own certificate are the next:

  1. Go to OPDA’s official blog here: http://www.opda.net.cn/index.php
  2. Click on the bar where it says “Register”, see the image.
    opdaReg1
  3. Fill the registration form and you’re in, then you go to the next link: http://www.opda.net.cn/viewthread.php?tid=44314&extra=page%3D1 where’s the thread about free certificates, then you have to post your IMEI like this:for example:
    id: sshingo
    Series of mobile phones[Imei]: XXXXXXX
    the date of application :08-03-29

Read the instructions to understand more.

  4. When you post your IMEI you have to check the page where you posted it because after you post it you have to wait one day or two, then open this link: http://www.opda.net.cn/forumdisplay.php?fid=134 and look for a thread title like this: English User Certificate 2008/x/xx (YY-ZZ PAGE) where YY and ZZ are the number of pages, search a title where the page on taht you post your IMEI is between YY and ZZ, search a little bit until you find a post with an attachment, donwload it and that’s it!!! Your own certificate to sign your applications.
  5. Download an application taht uses your certificate to sign your applications on a easy way like XSign .NET or similar.
